Adult Lent Course and Youth, Children and All-Age Lent Course leaders’ preparation evenings
More than 120 leaders came together for this opportunity to explore our diocesan Lent materials. Please let us know if you have any feedback, or if you have any further queries about the Youth, Children & All-Age version.
Ashford Archdeaconry Feb 9th Canterbury Archdeaconry Feb 10th Maidstone Archdeaconry Feb 11th Those leading courses last year found these preparation evenings extremely useful. Not only will the background to the course and material be more fully understood, so too will the best ways to lead it. We have incorporated changes this year in response to last year’s feedback. There is a different session structure with the use of group lectio divina as an important part of each session. Please encourage prospective leaders to come to the venue that is most convenient. Neville Emslie, the diocesan Ministry Development Officer and primary author of the course, will share insights into the course and how to get the best from it, with a special focus on doing lectio divina with groups. Murray Wilkinson, diocesan adviser for ministry with children and young people, will do the same with Youth, Children & All-Age course materials. The three evening sessions for group leaders and church leaders are: Ashford Archdeaconry – St Mary’s Church hall, Kennington on February 9th from 7.30-9pm Canterbury Archdeaconry – St Mary Bredin Church, Canterbury on February 10th from 7.30-9pm Maidstone Archdeaconry – Lenham Community Centre, Lenham, on February 11th from 7.30-9pmPlease register for these preparation sessions by February 10th. We encourage those attending to bring a bible and a copy of the course sessions, found here: http://www.canterburydiocese.org/lent/# The course sessions, notes for church and group leaders, Sunday worship materials are available on the website for you to download; the material for the Youth, Children & All-Age Lent Course will be available soon.
