Rules for Children in Church

rulesI was once again reminded recently as to just how hard it is for those involved in ministry with children & young people when confronted with the mindset so prevalent in churches that children, particularly, should be seen and not heard, and if they aren’t seen all the better.

So I quite enjoyed reading this contribution from Rev’d Claire’s blog and thoroughly encourage all churches to implement these rules for children!

My favourite has got to be rule #10:

10. Have quiet (ish) activities available in church. Be prepared for them to be ignored and for children to stack hassocks or make tunnels of books instead. This is probably the most sensible use to which either will have been put for some time!

Go on over to Claire’s blog and read the rest, then be brave and suggest the rest of your PCC read it too!!

[HT again to DOPCANDY for finding this gem!]
