Canterbury Boiler Room opens a prayer space in the city: 27Jul–12Aug

As you may know, we are a community of people from different churches in the area who all share a heart to invest ourselves in prayer for Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay. We currently have a prayer space in Castle Street, above Godwin Curtis Estate Agent.

On Friday we received the excellent news that the Cathedral has agreed to lend us one of their empty buildings on Burgate, so that we can open a ‘more accessible prayer space right in the heart of the city during the Olympic Games. The premises opens right on to the street, so we will be able to set it up as a place where anyone and everyone can wander in and meet with God.

The space will include interactive prayer activities on an Olympic theme, as well as a hospitality area where people can have tea or coffee, and quiet areas where people can reflect and enjoy God’s presence.

Within the next couple of weeks we will be circulating some flyers and posters around the churches to let people know what we’re doing, but we wanted you to know first of all.

Please do pray for us as we seize hold of this God-given opening. And please do consider the following:

* Would you or your group/church like to do any missions work in the city this summer which we or our prayer space could help to make happen?

* Are there people in your group/church who might be interested in helping us create or host this prayer space?

* Are there things you’re doing which you’d like us to be praying for (we will of course have an area to display publicity for different church activities )?

Please don’t hesitate to get back to me if you would like to know more, or have any ideas.
